The Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO)
APRIL 2016 to APRIL 2022
The SHPO was served upon Joseph Spencer at sentencing on 11 April 2016 for an indefinite period. In July 2020, Joseph submitted to the Bradford Crown Court his application to revoke the SHPO. The Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) case was heard at the Appeal Court on 8th-April-2022. In this compelling case, we contend that the Court’s application of the law in imposing the Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) was flawed. Specifically, the inclusion of paragraph 21 of Schedule 3 from the Sexual Offences Act 2003, pertaining to under-age 13 individuals, is unjustified as the conviction does not involve an offense relating to those under the age of thirteen. Personal Injury Case And Pending
Joseph Maxwell Spencer’s imprisonment was a chaotic and torturous experience for him, given his sensory hypersensitivity as an autistic individual. The excessively noisy environment of the prison regressed his autism into an health issue requiring lifetime treatment. We are currently pursuing a personal injury claim in court and campaigning for the abolition of the Prisons for a 21st century model of custodial sentence.
