D.IS.ABILITY
POETRY BY: JOSEPH MAXWELL SPENCER
They say I am blind
That I cannot see anything
Yet I say,
I see darkness
******
They say I am deaf
That I cannot hear anything
Yet I say,
I hear silence
******
They say I am dumb
That I cannot say anything
Yet I say,
I converse in sign-language
******
They say I am nose-disorder
That I cannot smell anything
Yet I say,
I smell airing
******
They say I am crippled
That I cannot walk anywhere
Yet I say,
I walk on wheels
******
They say I am dyslexic
That I cannot read and write
Yet I say,
I excels high skills in lateral thinking
******
They say I am autistic
That my social life is quirky
Yet I say,
My brain is a repository for certain strengths
******
They say we are disabled
That we cannot do everything
Yet we say,
Disability is not a disorder
Humans are divergent
D is for Divergent
D is Ability
