May 2024: Please take notice that some people have been going round engaging Joseph in small talk and secretly recording his voice, both in-person and over the phone. There had been attempts to get his recent photos as well from multiple places. Knowing the historical attempts to criminalise this man by all means, we are compelled to put this on public notice so everyone are aware:
- If you have Joseph’s number on your contact list and you receive a voice call or video call that purported to be him, with his voice, don’t believe it. Arrange to see him face to face.
- Joseph is not suffering mental health or suicidal, in the event a deep-fake voice note or video is being planned to make up stories to certain end.
- Joseph would not call anyone to ask for money or ask anyone to provide him their bank details to send them money.
- Joseph is not visibly active on any social media platform, he is not on any website, be it dating, bitcoin, or anywhere for that matter, so don’t expect to see an activities of some sort purported to be him on any web platform.
We are still investigating why this is happening. We know those behind this and we are keeping our eyes on them!
Statement on Surveillance, Disruption, and Ongoing Injustice
We acknowledge the persistent and aggressive online surveillance targeting Joseph since his release from prison. In addition to the invasion of his digital privacy, there have been deliberate disruptions to his computers and attempts to sabotage his academic research—tools and work he relies on daily.
Although Joseph was convicted under Section 1 of the Protection of Children Act 1978, it is important to emphasise that no such evidence was presented to show that he engaged in any activities involving indecent images of “Children“. Despite this, those responsible for the surveillance appear to be seeking new ways to criminalise him unjustly.
We are deeply concerned that this persistent and ongoing aggressive surveillance is being used not only to monitor but potentially to fabricate or plant false evidence—something that has reportedly happened before. Those behind these covert actions may believe they can repeat the past without accountability.
But we are watching. And we will not remain silent!!
