EMBRACING THE POWER OF SILENCE!
We embrace the power of silence as we await the conclusion of the CCRC’s review of this case, allowing us to present our strongest case reference to the appeal court.
The Appeal Case: Neutral Citation Number is: [2017] EWCA Crim 916.
As mentioned on the introductory page of this campaign site, Joseph Spencer represented himself at the appeal court without a lawyer. He was held in prison and was not present at his own hearing. The Court of Appeal Office’s SUMMARY submission to the judges was biased towards the narratives of his prosecutors and did not accurately reflect Joseph’s case submission in terms of quality.
However, the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) is currently reviewing his case. We have been advised not to report the details of the appeal process while the investigation is ongoing. We trust the CCRC to thoroughly investigate this case and refer it back to the Appeal Court. We are also closely monitoring recent instances of suspected intimidation of witnesses and coercion to change their original statements and material evidence to fit the prosecution’s case, which are emerging in relation to this case.
